Natural park of Marjal the Pego-Oliva


It is a protected area located in the towns of Pego and Oliva, Alicante and Valencia, this protected area has a dune system that extends south of the river Serpis. It consists of marshy areas and rice fields.

The formation of this park is due to silting process suffered an ancient bay that made pond and later went on to become the current marsh. Because it is a uniform extension of reeds with clean water several rafts being crossed by a network of old acequias.Comunidad Valencia, Spain.
1250 This place has been declared a natural park by the Valencian government on 27 December 1994.1
